My name is Karie Elizabeth Falkenstein, and I am from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. I received my MA from New York University in Teaching French and English in 2010. Since then, I have been teaching and illustrating.

     I illustrate in ink and watercolor, combined with digital mediums.

I create and print my cards at home, and sell them through my

Etsy Shop: Karie Beth Colors.

     In 2020, I self published my first childrens book: Pumpkinee Pumpkin. This story follows a pumpkin through his quest to make a friend in the pumpkin patch. My book is currently a staff pick on the Blurb Book Shop. I hope to create many more childrens books in the future.

     My illustrations are inspired by the real life beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Shenandoah Valley, and my travels throughout the world, which have included time in Poland, Russia, France and Costa Rico. As an artisit, I strive to create timeless illustrations that bring joy and beauty to everyone's day.
